I was due a week ago and I'm feeling a little tired of waiting... But I guess she'll be born sooner or later! I rather hope sooner.
But one of the good things about being pregnant is that I've learnt a great deal of new skills! I've learnt to be patient, because I've become very slow with everything, I cannot always remember things, and I'm pretty much always feeling tired. So sometimes it's easier just to forgive oneself. I've also (almost) learnt to leave early when I'm going somewhere (I'm always late anyway, and walking and getting dressed have become veeery slow operations), and I've learnt how it must feel to be old and not to be able to walk very fast (however, the grannies in the neighbourhood walk faster than I do!). And finally (I'm very proud of this), I've learnt how to pick up stuff from the floor with my toes! How cool is that! :D It's made playing with Miss I and Miss F a lot easier lately. And I keep dropping things on the floor, a lot.
In my previous post I promised to show you some other stuff that I've knit, so here they are:
Owlie mittens for a dear friend, in orange Hjertegarn Vidal Alpaca. Also on Ravelry.
Belmont Boot Toppers (on Ravelry) for me, made from green Yllet Ullgarn Extra:
And, of course, Tardis mittens (on Ravelry) for my lovely Mr V, made from Rauma Finullgarn, yellow and Tardis Blue ;)

Expecting...
It's been a long time since I've written here! I know I promised to pull myself together. Well, here goes.
I've been back at home for a couple of months now and it feels lovely to be back. I really missed my husband and my cats. And my friends, of course. I have no idea how I managed to live without them for several months! And no wonder I felt lonely in Uppsala because I spent most of my time knitting in my room! I've been knitting a lot (according to my standards, anyway), so here's what I've been up to:
A pair of Viking mittens as a Christmas present for a dear friend, made from Eco-Alpaca by Viking (on Ravelry):
I started knitting a blanket (Fritidsgarn by Sandnes Garn) for our future baby a long time ago, and now that she's actually on her way, I finally finished the blanket with the help of Miss F:
This one I finished last summer, I think (yes, I know - lazy me for not posting about it here). This is made from all my favourite colours of Novita Nalle and Seitsemän veljestä:
Oooh and this is probably my favourite! I found the perfect yarn (Finullgarn by Rauma) and colours at YlloTyll, my haven in Uppsala. I started this in Uppsala and finished it here at home, but I always speak of it as the Uppsala pullover, even though it's not the only one. The buttons are from Punainen Lanka in Hakaniemen halli, here in Helsinki. Also on Ravelry.
And finally, I also finished the jumpsuit and bonnet that I started knitting a very, very long time ago (why am I so slow with my projects?). They're made from Drops Alpaca and similar buttons as in the pullover above. Here's Miu Miu, my sweet little friend from Uppsala, wearing the bonnet and her own new jumpsuit. On Ravelry.
There's still a lot of stuff I haven't showed you, but I promise I'll do that next time!

Changes
I'm feeling very homesick. I miss my lovely husband and my beautiful cats. But luckily I'm not all alone here! There's someone living inside my tummy. Yes, I'm going to be a mum. :)
I have no idea if it's a boy or a girl, but I'm working on a dress anyway. And I've bought a couple. So if it's a boy, it will be a beautiful boy! ;)
I finished these overalls maybe a month or two ago, but they still need buttons. Maybe I'll just skip finding the perfect buttons and just use the ones I have here with me.
And I've made a hat, soaker pants, and a sleep sack. With owls. And mittens to match them, probably booties or socks too, a little later. :)
Oh, and I've got too many projects in my head - projects that I'd love to start right away. A cardigan, a pullover - no, two pullovers - a couple of blankets... How many blankets can a baby have? I'm starting to get the feeling that all our cupboards will be full of blankets and there won't be any room for clothes. Oh, well, maybe we'll just have to start weaking blankets, then.
Oh, and toys. I want to crochet toys.

Oh, autumn... Hey, where did you go?
I've been enjoying some beautiful, sunny autumn days and their exquisite colours. Maples are my favourite kind of trees and it must be because of their autumn colours why I love this time of the year. But, before I noticed, the days were turning bleak. And I realised I hadn't taken a single photo! So finally I took some, but a little too late. The colours weren't what they had been a while ago. It's getting colder all the time, and although it's raining now, I think there will be snow soon.
A dear friend of mine had her birthday a couple of weeks ago. I couldn't be there to celebrate it with her, but I made her these. I miss her. They're made of Finullgarn's Rauma, the Ravelry project can be found here.
And, this was also a couple of weeks ago. I do like certain traditions, and I think the Swedish Kanelbullens dag - a day dedicated to cinnamon rolls - is a good one. I enjoyed a cappuccino and a large cinnamon roll with a friend at Café Linné Hörnan, a cosy café here in Uppsala. The lovely kanelbulle made me forget that I should take some photos inside the beautiful café. Well, here's one from the outside.

New town, new yarn
I finally decided to take my chance and study abroad! Uppsala is a beautiful town full of history, lovely people and interesting things to study. I've also found a lovely yarn shop, YlloTyll.
I've also been knitting like a maniac, even when I should be studying! It's quite worrying, really. October starts tomorrow and the weather's got very chilly. Luckily I managed to knit a beret and a matching pair of mittens in time!
I really like the pattern on the beret, you can also wear it inside out!
And as for the owls... Sweet little owls! I think they're really cute, but they're sleepy owls. I didn't add beads for their eyes, so now they have their eyes closed. Maybe they wake up during the night and go outside, flying around and hooting.
The summer's over but my favourite flowers are still blooming!

Tea, yarn, cats.
My annual blog post, it seems! I've been rather busy with my studies and I haven't really had the time or energy for blogging. I haven't accomplished much lately, knit-wise or any other wise.
I've been crocheting these little things (they actually are very small!) and it'll take some time before I can make them into a (huge, I'm hoping) quilt. When I do, I'll let you know.
Still knitting the first sock. Novita Florica, with a lovely cuppa.
Miss I wanted to say hello to the camera!
Oh, and I've been to the cinema today - I saw the film Cloud Atlas. And I hate to admit that I haven't read the book. But I will. I loved that film. Strange, complicated, sad and beautiful. I can warmly recommend.
I hope I'll be back soon with some more stuff to tell. And I hope there'll be some progress with my knitting.
